These works on panel were created with casein and raw pigment during my extended five month stay on the island of Møn in the Baltic. They started as an exploration of how color and gesture could be combined and operate within a confined space. The panels are painted one after another and joined immediately into diptychs. Strangely, once they are joined the planes do not seem to want to separate. The energy of one panel sometimes contrasts that of the second, and sometimes complements it, forming tight and compact entities.
